T-Mobile rates??

I'm in the US for a few days and I bought a prepaid SIM card for my phone, so I can talk to my wife in Romania.  At the store they said that it's $1.5 USD a minute for international calls.  Horribly expensive, but that's life.  I payed around 55 bucks for the SIM card.  For this money, I got a card with a credit of $30 or 150 minutes.  I'm not sure where the other 25 bucks went.

So, yesterday I had 6 dollars left on my account.  Since then, I received an SMS, I sent an SMS and I made a 59 seconds call.  Now I have $2.70 left in my account.  This totally sucks, I mean, WTF?!  Did they charge, like, 3 dollars for one minute?!

Another peculiarity is that this prepaid card has both credit and minutes limit.  Minutes go down even if you receive a call.  Credit goes down only if you make a call—or at least I hope so :)  That's kind of weird.  Romanian prepaid cards only have credit, and it only goes down if it's you who initiates a call.  To force you buy some more credit, Romanian SIM-s expire—if you don't recharge within 6 months or so, you lose the number.  During this time you can still receive calls.  I think that's a lot better for customers.

Other than the fact that T-Mobile sucks, visiting US is a really great experience.  I hope to be able to visit San Francisco this weekend; it's kind of rainy today so I'm staying at the hotel, but maybe tomorrow.
